The Ruby.

‘Being natural is not a statement, it’s the closest I can get to being myself.’

Free, natural, full, healthy hair. These are just a few words that spring to mind when describing ‘The Ruby'. There is a certain charm that surrounds natural hair, an air of freshness.

The strong outline, the texture - the slight frizz. The movement of hair that catches your eye, more than most blow dries ever could.

Taking inspiration from Lisa Bonet in the mid ‘80s, The Ruby is a rounded shape, with a structured perimeter.

The hair is cut slightly shorter towards the front corners; when dried the hair will jump in that shape, opening up the face. The outline can be cut short enough to dry as a curly fringe, or left slightly longer so when pushed to the side, gives a voluminous silhoutte

We have always been opposed to the idea that you need a ridiculous amount of layers to bring out the curls; thin, frizzy, undefined ends and annoyingly short hair that doesn’t have enough weight to form a nice curl tend to be the result of over-layering.

Instead, we believe a great outline and a few well-placed, subtle, shorter curls provide the foundation for your natural hair to do the talking.

No one in the world can recreate your natural hair… It’s not technical, it’s a feeling – personal to each head of hair. The same goes for this hair cut.

What makes The Ruby?
It's outline allows the hairs texture to express itself.  Shorter front corners to open up the face and provide volume to the hair when thrown to either side.   Perfect for anything between 2a and 4c curls.  Shape can be used as a way to subtly define curls where hair may just look like a big mass without any shape.  Can be worn in any parting, or dried as a fringe.  The build up of weight encourages natural movement, body and life.
